Against the Fear

Before that lies the ancient beast,
Ever to its creed by its ravenous feast.
To every heart that gone pale and dry,
That certain feel of doom to die.
Yet some, but few, emerge from dark,
Fearless and brave to make its mark.
For a little girl, who stand on edge,
Against the fear whose hunger is its pledge.
