Forest Guardian

Black leaves that guard their very way,
Always on the constant, vigilant sight;
Never more do they count their victim’s prey.

In flower of leaves, gentle that they stay,
Eternal sleep that dull their edges might.
Black leaves that guard their very way.

Heat compasses layer that boil such ray,
Each burn and melt that keeps them bright.
Never more do they count their victim’s prey.

Fall centered of their leaves, wilt to decay
Where life dies upon the sacred light.
Black leaves that guard their very way.

On white carpet snow against those that stray.
Where souls remain frozen till flesh turn blight.
Never more do they count their victim’s prey.

Elements of cycle stage night and day,
Always the judge upon man’s ever right.
Black leaves that guard their very way
Never more do they count their victim’s prey.
